We are working on a short story unit. Students have a vocabulary quiz next Thursday, January 26
Read, Read, Read!!! I find very few of my junior high students are reading. As with elementry students just learning to read, we still need practice. Students should read at least 30 minutes a day.

Essay or Short Story Writing
The Grade 9 Language exam includes a writing prompt which students respond to either in an essay or short story.
Reading Comprehension
Students should be familiar with common literary devices; being able to identify them in poetry, story and essay writing.
