I am always amazed how many late assignments students can cram into the few days just before report cards. I have a few students who hadn't even turned in a single assignment until the few days before report cards come out. These students leave themselves no opportunity for help with the assignment, feedback on the assignment or chance to improve their skills on each assignment. They also put me in a bind to mark under a tight time frame. Usually late assignments receive a lot less attention from me as a teacher than those completed on time. So if you are disappointed with your child's mark on their report card, ask them how many late assignments they turned in. Their grade may be reflecting a lack of effort or discipline. All late assignments must be completed by Tuesday, October 27.
